Web ChangesThis is where we'll announce the most recent additions to our web site. If you've visited us before and want to know what's changed, take a look here first. April 2006 - A Short (3.5 Minute) Animated Power Point Presentation of the Expedited Site Characterization Methodology is Available for Downloading - Click HereThe presentation demonstrates the Expedited Site Characterization Methodology as applied to tracking contamiant plume from a point of impact to its source. March 2006 - Students evaluations return good - superior ratings for the first two SVASA and EnviroCourses offerings in 2006!January 2006 - SVASA and EnviroCourses take leading role in the presentation of MTBE and Other Fuel Oxygenates Training for the Nevada Division of Environmental ProtectionSVASA and
EnviroCourses will coordinate, and lead instruction of, the presentation of the
2 day course " Monday
and The
course originally premiered December 2003 at the Course registration is expected to open January 17, 2006 at www.EnviroCourses.org. December 2005 - Registration for two new cooperatively developed courses opensRegistration for the "Groundwater Modeling Management and Application for Decision Making" and the "MTBE & Other Fuel Oxygenates: Characterization and Remediation" courses both opened this month. Registration for the March 13, 2006 modeling management course can be made at www.envirocourses.org. Registration for the May 25, 2006 MTBE & Other Fuel Oxygenates: Characterization and Remediation course cam be made by downloading and submitting the registration form available at: http://www.aihydro.org/ShortCourse.pdf. November 2005 - Global Hydrologic Services (through SVASA) commences cooperative development of a new 8 hour training course entitled "Groundwater Modeling Management and Application for Decision Making"SVASA in cooperation with the Long Island Groundwater Research Institute (LIGRI), Watermark Numerical Computing and EnviroCourses.org commenced development of the course to be held at LIGRI (Conference Room 120, Endeavor Hall, Marine Sciences Research Center, SUNY Stony Brook, NY) on March 13, 2006. The seminar is aimed at a broad spectrum of attendees, primarily decision-makers and managers. It is NOT a model construction or calibration course. It is an opportunity to explain to those with a broad range of skills and experience why models are wrong, how wrong they can be, and how this potential wrongness can be calculated and managed to make better, more defensible decisions. However, even experienced modelers will add to their skill base and become aware of new tools available to them to assist them with their work. Decision-makers, managers and regulators will increase their understanding of what they can expect from models and those who build them, and learn to ask the right questions (and better avoid being fooled with the wrong answers). They will also learn how better modeling RFPs should result in better modeling. Attorneys will become better informed of the strengths and weakness of modeling as a means of environmental investigation. For additional information download the draft detailed course information sheet. October 2005 - Global Hydrologic Services (through SVASA) to present 8 hour course at the 2006 Annual meeting of the American Institute of Hydrology (AIH)Joe Haas, Mike Hyman and Eric Nichols to present a 8 hour short course entitled "MTBE & Other Fuel Oxygenates: Characterization and Remediation" on May 25, 2006 in Batton Rough, LA. The course is being presented in conjunction with the 25th anniversary annual meeting of AIH. For more information about the AIH annual meeting see: http://www.aihydro.org/conference.htm . For additional information regarding the MTBE & Other Fuel Oxygenates short course see: the course flyer here or see or training page. July 2005 - SVASA Welcomes Eric Nichols, P.E.The Division of Solutions via Applied Science Associates welcomes Mr. Eric M.
